I am a computational and molecular biologist, currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Computational Genetics Group, Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Sweden. Our group is a young dynamic and interdisciplinary team led by prof. Örjan Carlborg.
My research interests span from protein structure analysis to genome-wide studies of quantitative trait loci. In my work, I make use of various statistical and machine learning methods to build models of interesting biological phenomena. Currently, I am working on SNP analysis and QTL detection in chicken and dog genomes using data from the next-generation sequencing.
Apart from my research I enjoy jazz, hiking and mountaineering, literature and ancient history, recently also geocaching and playing jazz on my alto saxophone manufactured by Martin in the 1950-ties.
